One of the starting points for higher agricultural education in China.The school’s predecessor was the Hubei Agricultural School founded in 1898 by Zhang Zhidong, the governor of Huguang during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty.After several evolutions, in 1952, all departments and departments of the Agricultural College of Wuhan University and Hubei Agricultural College, as well as some departments and departments of the Agricultural Colleges of six comprehensive universities, including Sun Yat-sen University, were established as Huazhong Agricultural College.
